With Rabbi Greg, 5786/2026 Edition

Chanting Torah is our birthright, and with only a minimal knowledge of the Hebrew letters you will be able to chant from the Torah in just a few months

Have you ever wanted to chant Torah, but thought you could never learn because of Hebrew, your musicality or just the effort it would take?

For some people, the idea of chanting Torah is super intimidating. There are no vowels in the scroll, and the letters look funny. If you can barely recognize Hebrew words, how are you supposed to quickly go through a Torah reading in front of a crowd no less.

Please join Rabbi Greg Marcus for an hour on Sunday afternoons to learn to chant trope using the super easy and intuative Trope Trainer software. Not only will you learn trope, you'll  learn how to use the software which will let you chant any part of the Torah! By the High Holidays you'll be ready to chant your portion.

What to expect in the Learn to Chant Torah class.

You will:

  • Learn why chanting isn't about the music but about the pauses between words
  • Discover how to use trope to interpret Torah
  • Be ready to chant an Aliyah on the High Holidays this year
