Overcoming Overwhelm

A Psalm 27 Elul Workshop

Experience a personal transformation opportunity by reading Psalm 27 every day and journaling according to Rabbi Robbins’ insightful prompts

Opening-your-heart-

Have you ever wondered why it is a Jewish tradition to read Psalm 27 every day during the Jewish month of Elul?

Honestly, until a few years ago I hadn’t heard of Elul, and certainly did not know about any spiritual practices associated with it. Since then, the more I’ve learned, the more powerful Elul’s spiritual practices have been for me.

When dealing with tough times, have you ever retreated into a fantasy of safety and protection? Have you ever felt abandoned? What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Psalm 27 explores all of these themes, and it offers a solution for dealing with overwhelm.

Please join Rabbi Greg Marcus for the Psalm 27 Elul Workshop. Each day you’ll read a journaling prompt from Rabbi Debra Robbins’ book: Opening Your Heart with Psalm 27: A Spiritual Practice for the Jewish New Year. As a group, we will meet 4 times by zoom to deepen the practice.
